This is one of the odder pages you will find, its just a random collection of my thoughts on the world as it stands, not in any sort of order - just as a bit if fun.
Driving
One of my biggest annoyances on the road are people who insist on sitting in the middle lane of the motorway at 65 when the inside lane is completely empty or has a small amount of traffic. One thing that does not bother me in the slightest is trucks overtaking trucks, they have a job to do let them get on with it
40 mph brigade on country roads - I like my spirited driving on the country lanes, who wouldn’t but on some lovely twisty roads you always get caught behind a car doing 40 mph with nowhere to overtake, the weird thing though is the car doing 40 is generally a better car than I am in so would have no trouble traveling at the NSL - then when going through a village with a 30 limit they stay at 40 mph when I and other sensible motorists slow down to 30
Speed cameras/speed enforcement vans
its not the speed enforcement I have a problem with at all, personally I agree with speed enforcement in the right areas (outside schools, town center’s etc) but the problem with a speed camera and a speed enforcement van is that they catch you, then you get the punishment a week or so later - you dont learn anything. If a police offer caught you for speeding, you are punished there and then - sent off with your tail between your legs, the police can also focus on driving issues that a speed camera cant, a speed camera cant catch a tailgater or a drunk driver or a band driver and a speed camera can not check a car to see if it is roadworthy or dangerous
Boom boom boom
This may sound hypocritical considering my hobby is large car audio systems that shake the vehicle to bits BUT I cant stand loud car hifi’s, let me explain - I like to compete in sound-off’s up and down the country and when I play my music all the windows are up, yes I do play loud but turn it down when near residential areas/town center’s, the thing that annoys me are people who drive through town center’s over and over with all the windows down playing music with questionable lyrics, Im not saying people should not have large stereos - I love my large amounts of bass but there is a time and a place
The media
Is it just me or has the quality gone down recently, a few years ago lots of fantastic television, some of the greatest comedy shows around - now all we have is a succession of reality shows, why is this? Why do we rely on reality shows to pad the schedule?
Radio DJ’s
Why are you talking over half the song, I do not want to hear you playing silly sound effects over the song, I do not want to listen to what your going to do at the weekend, play the song and let the British public enjoy the music
